The Path to Becoming Is in Your Creation
Apr 20, 2026For the longest time, I believed that my likes, dislikes, my way of being , i.e my identity once formed should never change.
I thought that changing who I am meant, something was unsafe.
That evolving my identity meant I was somehow being untrue to myself.
That becoming someone new was a kind of betrayal.
So I stayed the same.
I told myself that staying the same meant reliability.
That if people who had known me in the past could look at me and say, “She hasn’t changed,” then I was steady… trustworthy.
But these were just stories I was telling myself.
Because underneath it all, I was afraid.
Afraid to change. Afraid to grow. Afraid to step into something unknown.
Changing meant going beyond my comfort zone.
It meant making decisions I had never made before. It meant becoming someone I didn’t yet know. It meant feeling uncomfortable.
And so I chose familiarity.
The Cost of Staying the Same
When you don’t allow your identity to evolve, you don’t stay safe
You stay stuck.
Your dreams remain dreams. Because for those dreams to become your reality, something within you has to change. You have to become the version of you who can hold them.
That means thinking differently.
Acting differently.
Choosing differently.
It means stepping beyond what is known and into what is possible.
Why the Brain Resists Change
Your brain is wired for safety.
It constantly uses past experiences to predict what will happen next.
Familiar patterns feel safe because they are known.
So when you just make a decision to change or to choose something new, your brain can go a little beserk. Just the decision can trigger a response. And this can happen even before you take action.
It can interpret that as uncertainty and uncertainty can feel like danger. So your body may respond
with resistance, doubt, overthinking, or even an urge to go back to what you know.
This is why discomfort arises.
Why it feels easier to go back to old ways.
But this isn’t because you’re incapable of change.
It’s because your nervous system hasn’t learned that this new path is safe yet.
The Truth About Neuroplasticity
The brain is not fixed.
Through neuroplasticity, it has the ability to form new neural pathways, learn new patterns, and adapt over time.
When you repeatedly choose new thoughts, new actions, and new ways of being, your brain begins to reorganize itself around those experiences.
What once felt unfamiliar… slowly becomes familiar.
What once felt unsafe… begins to feel safe.
Change is not a threat to the brain, it is something the brain is designed to adapt to. This means you get to shift as much as possible, to change as much as you want. To believe in something else completely if it serves in your growth and evolution.
Becoming Is a Conscious Creation
Yes, it will feel uncomfortable.
You are challenging old beliefs.
You are stepping into unfamiliar territory.
You are creating something new within yourself.
But that discomfort is not a sign that something is wrong. It is a sign that something is shifting.
You are no longer living from who you were
you are becoming who you are meant to be.
You Get to Change
You are allowed to evolve.
You are allowed to outgrow old identities.
To believe something new.
To choose a different way of being.
You are not betraying yourself.
You are meeting yourself at a new level.
The Path to Becoming
An identity that lives your dreams not just dreams them, requires your becoming.
You create new patterns.
You embody new beliefs.
You take new actions.
The path to becoming is not found outside of you.
It is created through you.
The path to becoming is in your creation.
Are you ready to lead yourself there?
If you feel ready to lead yourself into this becoming,
you don’t have to do it alone.
